OBJECTIVE

To ensure with reasonable certainty that any airport supplies (items to be sold, used or made available for any purpose or activity in the sterile areas of the airport, such as shops, fittings and supplies for sterile areas) other than “objects carried by non-passengers” being introduced in the sterile areas and on board aircraft do not contain prohibited items.

PROCEDURE

The National Security Plan, Edition 2 of 9/06/2015, which implements the European legislation on airport security (Reg. EU 2015/1998 and EC Decision 8005/2015), established that the airport supplies defined as “all the items to be sold, used or made available for any purpose or activity in the sterile areas of airports must be screened before being introduced in sterile areas[1], except in the event that said supplies have been checked for security by a Known Supplier and have been protected from any illegal interference from the exact time of these checks and until they are carried into the sterile area.”
